Free Cars - What’s Behind Those Free Car Programs
In the last few years, a new technology has developed that allows large multi-color vinyl decals to be produced easily and inexpensively. These decals can be applied to cars, trucks, and vans without damage to the vehicle’s paint. They are seen every day on commercial vehicles.
Advertising firms recognized the potential benefits of being able to place attention-getting ads on both commercial vehicles such as taxis and buses, and on private vehicles. Private owners who were willing to place ad decals (called “wraps”) on their vehicles would be paid for the service. And in many cases, new leased vehicles would be provided to drivers if they would agree to drive and park the vehicles in high traffic areas so that they would be easily seen.
Many advertising companies now have these kinds of programs. Most are in or near large metropolitan areas. Some advertise for interested drivers and vehicle owners, but most do not. Many of these advertisers can be found on the Internet, although it’s somewhat difficult to find programs in a specific area or city.
This is why there are now a number of Internet-based services that produce “directories” of advertising companies who offer “free car” or “pay to drive” programs. The directories list advertising programs in the United States as well as in many other countries.
There is a great deal of variety in the quality and content of the directories offered by these companies, and their promises must be taken with the proverbial grain of salt. Most charge about $30-$40 for a subscription or “membership” that keeps the directory updated. It requires some care in selecting a good company.
If you decide to purchase from one of these companies, look for at least a 90-day money-back guarantee because it may take that long to find out if this kind of program will work for you. Do not subscribe to any “premium” services that may be offered by the directory provider.
For more details on “free car” programs, how they work, and what it takes to qualify, see Free Cars - Fact or Fiction?.

The Benefits of Buy to Let Investing
The housing market has recently been experiencing a bit of a
slow down. Although this might have come with a sigh of relief
from the first-time buyers, it has left some of those thinking
of investing in the Buy to Let market in a bit of a quandary. Is
it the right time to invest in a Buy to Let property? Well, Buy
to Let is certainly a big commitment and not one to be taken
lightly, however if it is well researched and undertaken as a
long-term investment, it is unlikely that the average Buy to Let
investor will lose money. So what benefits could you reap from
taking that step towards investing in the Buy to Let property
market?
Buy to Let - The Benefits.
With a bit of research and the right Buy to Let mortgage anybody
can take advantage of this type of investment but what type of
rewards from Buy to Let can you expect?
*Investment - Buy to Let allows you to maximise the longevity of
your property investment. *Low Interest Rates - The relatively
low Buy to Let mortgage rates is convincing many to take the Buy
to Let plunge. *Professional Tenants - Over the last decade
there has been an increase in the number of professionals being
located to the bigger UK cities. This type of tenant is often
viewed as preferable to students. *Extra Money - A Buy to Let
property guarantees you an extra monthly “salary”. *Profit -
Don’t forget that over time your property should appreciate in
value. If correctly maintained and sold at the right time, a Buy
to Let property can make you a significant profit. *Rental
Demands - Current surveys suggest that demand for rented
accommodation in some of the UK’s larger cites with high
population density, is outweighing supply. *Hassle-free - If you
use a reputable letting agent the letting process should be
relatively hassle-free. This means you can sit back and relax
while you watch the money roll in. *Invest in you Investment -
You can improve the value of your Buy to Let property through
carefully planned renovations and therefore invest in your
investment. *Financial Security - Renting out the property can
provide you with a degree of financial security which you
otherwise may not have. *Ex-pat Advantages - If you are going to
work abroad you can rent out your property rather than having to
sell it or leaving it empty. *Stability - If you are looking to
invest your money, Buy to Let property is a relatively stable
investment.
If these sound like the kind of investment benefits that you
have been looking for then maybe the Buy to Let property market
is the one for you. If you decide to go ahead with your decision
to invest in Buy to Let property then you would be well advised
to speak to a professional mortgage adviser who will be able to
assess your personal circumstances and advise if Buy to Let is
the right investment for you.

It’s All About You and Your Weight
Do you find it “just about” impossible to stay mindful about weight and nutrition during the holidays? Of course you do. More than half of all Americans are overweight. What makes you different, all American’s are in this together. Do you find it interesting that this is an American problem caused by American ideals?
You can relax a little bit now because of a new government study which shows most Americans gain only about a pound over the holidays. So you’re not alone. The study shows two main things will influence your holiday weight gain: your level of hunger and your level of activity. In the study those who reported being less active or more hungry had the greatest weight gain.
If you can stay focused on dealing with just those two things, you’ll probably win.
“An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of weight gain,” according to Dr. Samuel Klein. The director of the Center for Human Nutrition at Washington University in St. Louis, MO. “Preventing the increase in weight is a lot easier and better than actually gaining weight and then trying to get it off again.”
The answer is simple. Eat less and exercise more.
The good news is that most of the people overestimate how much they had gained over the holidays. Fewer than 10% gain 5 pounds or more.
The bad news is that although the one pound gained seems like a small amount, it WAS NOT LOST during the rest of the year and those single pounds accumulate over the years and add up to obesity. To help with some of your weight issues visit Fit and Slim Forever at http://www.fitandslimorever.com

A Simple Technique for Manifesting Success into Your Life
Manifesting is great way to bring about the desires of your life. I want to teach you a simple technique to use manifesting to create the life you desire.
The first thing you need to realize is…
You and you alone are in charge of your life. The successes and failures in your life are directly correlated to what you think about.
A very empowering realization in life is to finally realize that you are in charge of it. The success or lack of it, in your life is not the fault of someone else or some event. Happiness and success is created by the thoughts and emotions you focus on.
Manifesting is a great tool for turning thoughts and emotions into reality. The key to successful manifesting is not just the thought of what it is you desire but putting the feelings and emotions with the thought. Coupling emotions with thoughts is a very powerful manifesting technique.
Thoughts are very powerful things but by themselves they are virtually harmless. Much like a bullet, thoughts are potentially powerful but without a firing pin it is harmless. Emotions are the firing pins of successful manifesting.
In order to increase the results of your manifesting techniques use feelings and emotions in conjunction with your thoughts. For example, instead of just thinking about wealth and how you are going to get it put emotions with it. Think about how you will feel when you have the money you desire and how you will enjoy sharing it with others to better their lives. Concentrate on how you feel knowing that you don’t have to worry about paying your bills or saving for retirement. Author Greg Bradden says it best:
“We must feel the feelings in our bodies of what we choose to experience in our world”
You must begin acting as if what you desire is already created in your life. By coupling emotions with your thoughts you can do this. Always remember that you are in charge of your life and that all you desire can be yours. God tells us “Ask and you shall receive”, you must KNOW that what you desire and ask for by thinking about and combining that thought with the proper emotions you will receive.
Emotion is the key to successful manifesting. Use this technique and you will start to see the things you desire in your life become reality.
Get motivated to change your life for the better and start attaining the things you want in your life. Mark Williams can help you with your Manifesting successes. Take a look at his Motivational Site for resources to improve your life.

American Gambling Basics
Casinos have always been a destination for the wealthy and the famous, however, these days they are hoping to be a regular stopover. But the gambling cannot be confined to one spot. However gone are the days when Las Vegas was the all and all destination for serious gambling.
The success of Las Vegan model inspired a lot of other states to legalize the concept of gambling resorts and palatial casinos as sources of churning hefty revenues.
The Indian Gaming Regulatory Act of 1988 was path breaking in more then one way. Not only did it permitted casinos on land controlled by Indians, but it also proved to be the forerunner of a plethora of other laws aimed at liberalizing gambling scenario of the nation.
The act injected much needed money into the sagging and cash deprived economies of the states and was by and large successful on doing so simultaneously also providing a large number of jobs.
Another concept that soon emerged on the scene was that of River boat Gambling. Though the name strikes all the right chords in the heart and creating images of garishly decorated boats moving to and fro on the river Mississippi and other inland waterways. However there is one twist to the tale. While yes the boats are with the most exquisite of the Victorian decoration and to stir up a lot of chords, but they never leave the docks!! Thus they are nothing but casinos on water. While the rules in actuality vary from state to state and in some states such casino boats are actually allowed to cruise through water also!
The busy life of the up town leaves people with hardly any opportunity to have exclusive gaming holidays. The entire country of US today can be traversed with al the fun and frolic a gambler would ever want. The acts of different states though are a bit different. Starting with the northeastern experience there are various reasons that make the make state and districts such attractive destinations of gambling. The facilities available in them and what are the legal requirements for gambling in these states though vary to an extent.
Mid Atlantic is another popular destination the regulatory authorities in these states however ensure that the avenues for gaming are ample. The avenues available to any one planning a trip around the US with only one aim, and that being gambling are vast to say the least.
Gambling travel in the states can be best planned if some information which foremost includes the laws governing gambling in that state and the right places to be looked for are known. Following are the regions classified which cover the entire length and breadth of the US and to get the most out of the country’s best gambling experience each one must be paid homage to.
These include:
* Northeast
* Mid-Atlantic
* Southeast
* South Central
* Midwest
* North Central
* Central Plains
* Southern Plains
* Northwest
* Western
* Nevada
Any plan should make sure that best of the above-mentioned are covered in totality.

The Mobile Serengeti Camp
The great migration across the Serengeti plains is an annual - ongoing - event. Triggered off and following rains it is unpredictable; because the rains are notoriously late, early or even fail. The animals may fail to be in the part of the Serengeti you have book. You find yourself booked into a lodge to see this great marvel to find out it is a five hour drive at 20 km per hour along very bad roads…
This is compounded by the fact the Serengeti stretches across the Kenyan border into the Maasai Mara. You may find you are in the wrong country and unable to cross the border - legally - to witness the million plus animals thundering across these endless plains.
One attempt at solving the problem of the unpredictability of the precise location of the migration is to book into the semi-permanent camp. These are tented camps offering all the luxury of a lodge. They have double beds, bathrooms and all the trappings of the five star lodge combined with the intimacy with the bush that only camping can offer. The emphasis is on luxury, remoteness and game viewing.
The semi-permanent camps give up just a little luxury in order to be mobile. They generally move three or four times per year and follow the great migration. If you book your safari and the migration is important for you to witness then a few days at one of the semi-permanent tented lodges is a much safer option.
There are a few to choose from. They are not cheap but offer a safari off the beaten track, away from the crowds of tourists and this alone makes them value for money. The atmosphere is relaxed. The newer camps are less stiff and formal that the more established [permanent based] tented camps. I prefer a more relaxed atmosphere with my luxury - I don’t want it to be hard work - I find some of the permanent camps to take away from the enjoyment of the safari by being too formal.
The camps are small and intimate which is great unless you find yourself trapped with a group of people who are set on giving each other a hard time, or are so self centered they don’t care about the rest of the camp. This can happen. The only consolation is people tend to move around and be at a camp for only one night. If you can afford to stay for a few nights at these camps you will not regret it. The slower you take your safari the more appreciative you will become of your surroundings.
The private camps are the way to a successful safari; that will keep you coming back for more year after year. Tanzania is not a cheap destination but well worth the extra expense.

Dealing With Your Appetite - Three Simple Steps
Have you ever had a day where you haven’t had problems with your appetite? Join the club! Millions of people trying to lose weight have had the same problem every day. And most of those are giving in to their problems with over eating.
Here is some good news. By implementing three simple steps, you can greatly improve your problems with appetite.
1) Exercise. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You have heard this one until your eyes cross, but listen to this.Research has shown that people who have an extreme workout every day have an increased appetite. Obviously that is not what you want.
Research has also shown that people who do not exercise have an increased appetite. That is worse because not only do you tend to eat more, but you don’t use the calories.
The same studies have shown that people who are not sedentary (couch potatoes) have less of an appetite.
So, what this means is that if you do a reasonable amount of exercise, you will actually decrease the amount of hunger you feel. So, if you have trouble resisting your hunger, this is a great tool. Don’t miss this one!
Here are some simple things to do to increase your exercise and not really notice it.
Park farther from the front door - Do this not only at the store, but at home. Those extra steps will start melting the fat!
Don’t buy that riding mower! Studies have actually shown an increased incidence of heart attacks and other health problems just with that one change. Stick with the old push type lawn mower. You will be better off.
Take the time for a short brisk walk twice a day and faithfully do it. This might be a bit harder. I have trouble with doing this myself. But there are many benefits to it. Doing it early in the morning will get you going better than any caffeine drink. You will be thinking clearer and be ready for all the other tasks of the day. Then, doing it about an hour before bedtime will help you sleep. If you get a bit tired physically, you will be able to relax easier and drift off to sleep.
That wasn’t too hard was it?
2) OK, this one might be meddling. But here goes.
Increase the amount of fiber in your foods. Before you toss a book at me, check this out. Fiber is a valuable part of your diet. You might ask why you even need something that goes right through you. Well, that is actually the key - it goes right through you.
If you don’t digest and absorb something, you won’t have to get rid of it some other way! So, here is what you are doing. You are satisfying your hunger with something that will not increase your calorie intake. Pretty cool really.
Now, consider these added benefits:
Increasing fiber in your diet will also help you with some other problems you might be having - regularity. Having constipation or diarrhea? This is a key to preventing or improving those problems.
Increasing fiber in your diet will move the food through your bowel at a faster rate - that will give you less time to absorb the calories that you actually do eat. Could you use something that decreases your calorie intake even though you eat them? Can’t lose!
Here are some easy ways to pick up some increased fiber without sacrificing your enjoyment of food.
First of all one caveat - you might think that stringy meat has fiber - WRONG! The stringy fibers in meat are all digestible and part of your calorie intake. Meat will not help. In fact it actually decreases the rate of food passage.
Now for the foods with lots of fiber - fruit, vegetables, whole grains and legumes (that’s beans for most of us). If you need fast food, there are many prepackaged small portions of many fruits. You can buy small cans of things like corn, peas, beets and other vegetables. And yes, beans - who cares if you are a bit musical?Actually, if you cook your own beans, just add a bit of meat tenderizer and you will decrease your tendency to, ahem, break wind.
3) Here is a big one. Increase your fluid intake. And not just any fluid. Water.
First the benefits:
By drinking a lot of water, you will keep your stomach full and you won’t get hungry as easily.
Lots of water will help the fiber to do its job. It will keep your stool on the soft side and moving through your bowels at a good clip.
By drinking water - not juice or soda pop - you will cut down on up to 30% of your calorie intake. Did you know that about 30% of the average American diet comes from soda pop? Pretty weird eh?
Now the downside. Lots of us don’t like water. In fact, we would rather drink lemon juice.
One thing you can do is flavor it just a bit. Use a squeeze of lemon or lime in it. Add just a bit of non-sugar kool aid type mix.
Better yet, invest in a water purifier or water filter. You won’t be sorry. Try out several brands and pick the one that gives the best tasting water. Then drink up.
There you have it. Three easy ways to deal with your appetite. And I didn’t even talk about your strong will. Give them a try. I think you will be surprised by the results.

What To Consider When Coming Up With A Franchise Idea
So many people think that by getting into the franchise business, they are setting themselves up for an easy way to make money, with a safety net under them the whole time. The only real advantage is that you are buying into a business model that works with the help of a company’s marketing and sales abilities. But just as with starting a company from scratch, one must have a plan and a model to come up with and follow in order to get the money one will need to start the franchise.
Naturally, one of the first things to consider is if the idea you are considering is legal or ethical? With the internet being as big as it is, there are many scams that are out there. Most of which come to you through an email. A good rule of thumb is if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. If you see the phrase “work from home” run the other way, it is most likely a scam. If you see an idea and you like it, find out first if others have made the idea succeed. Contact them and talk with them at length. Also, contact the franchise company and ask to see their financial reports. They should always let you see them. Find out if they make a profit on a regular basis.
But most importantly, are you going to work hard to make the franchise idea work? A great deal of hard work and planning can go into a franchise business. You can lose just as much with a franchise idea as you can in any small business. So making and following a budget is extremely important. Most franchise companies will let you know what kind of revenue you can expect to make each year. Budget below that amount. And don’t worry about what kind of experience you’ve had in the franchise’s area. They provide training.
Steve Gargin is the administrator of www.franchise-helper.com which is a great website dedicated to giving free advice all types of franchise opportunities.

Resolve Differences
Resolving conflict doesn’t come easily to too many people. Most of us want harmonious relationships and smooth interpersonal interactions. However, we know that disagreements and conflicts are part of any dynamic organization. They arise because people care about their jobs and want to produce good results. Conflict is not always negative, however. Sometimes it should be encouraged when discussion and debate can generate creative, innovative approaches to issues or decisions. Conflict is beneficial when the focus is on finding the best solution. However, conflict is unproductive when it fails to produce mutually satisfying solutions or when it becomes personal in nature.
When you are involved in a conflict yourself, consider these ideas:
Depersonalize the conflict. Catch yourself when you begin to fall into the trap of believing that the other person is deliberately trying to make a situation difficult.
At the beginning of resolving differences or conflict, clearly sate your desire to find a solution that will work for all involved.
Build on areas of agreement before you address areas of difference.
Remember to listen first and talk second. Ask open-ended questions to draw others out and to encourage them to talk about the conflict.
Try to arrive at a common goal around which everyone involved can focus, and agree to work through areas of disagreement. In other words, don’t agree to outcome that you will not support. Surface reservations that you have and talk with the other person until you can agree on a course of action.
Dig for understanding without implying criticism.
Focus on common ground issues and interests of both sides. Find a “win” for all affected parties and avoid entrenched positions.
Identify specific behaviors in concrete terms and explain the tangible outcomes they have, so that the other person can more easily appreciate the nature of the difficulty.
Rely on facts instead of judgments or inferences to help you avoid giving feedback that becomes personal.
Have a goal in mind, a purpose for the meeting or discussion.
Remember to put it in once sentence that attacks the problem, not the person. Secondary issues can divert or confuse matters. However, when you concentrate on accomplishing tasks and the required behaviors for getting the job done, you won’t be distracted. Ask yourself, “What is my goal in saying this?” Focus your attention on achieving that primary goal and forget the personal agendas. Keep the outcome in mind. Do you want the person to get angry, or do you want him to start fixing the problem? Maintaining a helpful attitude will keep the other person comfortable and motivated to work with you to solve the problem.
Sometimes the boss is not directly involved in the conflict. Instead, one or more of his or her direct reports are experiencing some problems. When this happens, the first rule is to stay out of it, if you can. Jumping in to fix things may work in the short term, but in the long term, you won’t have created anything better. When one of the people involved approaches you and vents, the first thing you can try is to listen empathically. Then, when the direct report finishes explaining the situation, you can ask simply, “What would you like me to do with this information?” Usually the answer will be “Nothing.” However, if it isn’t, weight carefully whether you should step in. Usually, there should only be two people involved in the conflict. Any more, and things get really ugly and complicated. Encourage the people to resolve things themselves.
However, sometimes you just can’t stay out of a disagreement. When productivity starts to suffer or morale is compromised, something has to be done sooner rather than later. If both of the people involved agree that they can’t work things out between themselves, the boss needs to get involved.
A beginning strategy is to have both people meet with you to discuss the plan for resolving their differences. But instead of hashing things out right then, invite the participants to fill out some pre-work. This will help you gather the information that will be essential to getting to the core of the trouble. One way to gather this information is to ask each person involved in the disagreement to answer these questions before the actual meeting occurs:
1. What do you consider to be the main barriers to objective and constructive candor as you prepare for this meeting?
2. How can these barriers be eliminated or lowered?
3. What other problems must be resolved before you begin to tackle this problem?
4. Describe the overall nature of your present on-the-job relationship with the other person. How productive is it?
5. How would you describe what an ideal working relationship would be?
6. What have you done to cause the current conflict?
7. What resolution have you attempted?
8. What has the other person done to contribute to the current conflict?
9. What attempts has he or she made at resolution?
10. What major obstacles stand in the way of making this relationship ideal? (Be candid and objective.)
What obstacles do you introduce?
What obstacles does the other person introduce?
11. What can be done to eliminate these barriers?
12. What other factors or people inhibit the relationship being ideal?
13. What benefits would accrue if the relationship were improved?
Benefits to you
Benefits to other person
Benefits to organization
14. What adverse consequences might ensue if the relationship is not improved?
Consequences to you
Consequences to other person
Consequences to organization
15. What can be done to improve the relationship so that the benefits are realized and the adverse consequences averted?
What can you do?
What can the other person do?
What can others do?
After the participants have answered the above questions independently of each other, they will be ready to meet with each other discuss their answers. Let them try to do it alone to see if they can. If they can’t, have another meeting with you there.
This can be a slow painstaking process, but it works. When each person is taking a turn reading answers to the other and then discussing the answers, volatile outbursts are unlikely. This technique requires time and patience, but it tends to be more successful than the “bandaid” approach.
Conclusion
Effective communication is at the heart of all human activity, and bosses who excel in it also take great strides in developing their people and keeping the stars in the organization. Increasingly, an organization’s competitive advantage depends on people, especially on creative, innovative people. Successful organizations must develop, sustain, and market high levels of innovation throughout their infrastructures if they want to maintain their industry leadership. To encourage the pace of this sort of initiative, leaders can no longer rely on a few key individuals to develop creative solutions. Instead, bosses who want to attract, retain, and develop a pool of talented thinkers must know ways to encourage each person’s contributions. Effective communication is that way.
