Hundreds of avid snowboarders will soon be looking for their skiing gear and dashing forth hunting for the biggest snow.

And beyond any doubt the results of your carbon footprint will be nearly as far down the list of holiday musts as a turkey sandwich after the Christmas vacation.

Only last year, a tardy snow was in the headlines and holidaymakers were terrified about the smattering of snow disappearing almost as soon as they settled.

Skiing holiday business Chalet1802, based at the bottom of Mont Blanc in Chamonix ski resort in the Alps, is one of the only autonomous firms to go carbon negative and provide skiers an environmentally friendly choice while organising their ski trip.

Chalet1802 owner Torion stated: Last winter was quite a surprise with the most warm wintertime in 60 yrs in the French Alps. Famous skiing areas for example Les Gets, Tignes and Tignes suffered. It was balmy and the snow didn’t settle so a lot of the early winter snowboarding season in the Alps was patchy. We decided to go carbon negative to assist in the preservation the snowboarding resort.

Torion said: We’re not assaying to prescribe to clients only I believe it’s of import to give the guests the selection without raising the cost of the vacation. When the client book with us and takes his annual leave in our Chamonix ski chalet they may further off-set their carbon output and we soak up the extra costs. Naturally we still have a sauna and a hot tub - customers want opulence but not at the expense of the environment, so we viewed ways of lessening the impact of someone traveling over here for a snowboarding holiday.”

The firm have moreover linked up with charity Climate Care, who tackles global warming by making carbon dioxide deductions for people and businesses.
