A Great Night out with Friends
When when the warm evenings are getting hotter, you use up a lot of your time to meet with friends drinking in pub gardens without the aid of garden heaters. Purchasing beverages in the bar that cost large amounts of money, doing serious damage to the bank account. What is better news to your Bank Manager than that of free music london? You feel as though you have earned the right to spend a lot more money on shooters of Sambuca and Whiskey and Cokes.
Some members of the public have decided that now they only go out once a month. In London, the price of pints has increased in the last couple of years. You can have a night out in town and spend a hundred pound without the time even reaching twelve a.m. There are still a quite a large amount of people that go out without fail every Friday and Saturday night but every single one of us would never turn down chances to see some free gigs.
Kings Place are running regular themed completely free music nights for the younger generation. The genres of music run through all genres of desired music and less well known genres. The people that attend are vibrant and young. The night is supposed to cater for 18 - 40 year olds, but the age group that takes the largest chunk is mid twenties. As you attend more and more nights every week you notice the same people in the venue from weeks in the past. This is a good indication as people just keep coming back each week. The styles of music change to suite everyones cup of tea, but the keen members seem to be diverse and look forward to experiencing something unique. It is free admittance so you don’t have anything to lose in trying something for free you haven’t heard before.
The most unforgettable evening so far was the Blues night. It consisted of four artists all from London playing bluesy rhythms to make you jump up and down. RogerHubbard was by far the most gifted in the set. His songs were from a sixties era with riffs that were both melodic and fun. The tune ‘Fighting That Jug’ was performed so well. A song about a drunk sung in an upbeat tone. They master of ceremonies announced he will be back in the New Year so be sure not to miss it.
This week coming up it is the theme of Punk music. So if it’s not your cup of tea, just go along anyway, you never know you might have a really good time, it costs nothing after all.
