Mistaken Belief no. 1: The muscles in my face will freeze!

The dose injected by most doctors result in you looking ‘refreshed’, but still you will always maintain your facial expression.

Mistaken Belief no. 2: Botulinum is toxic!
There is some truth in this statement. Its medical term is Botulinum Toxin Type A. An overdose may result in loss of muscle tone or may even cause illness.

However to put things into perspective - an old pharmacy saying states that ‘everything is poisonous - all depending on the dose’. All medicines can make someone unwell in large enough quantities. In fact water can be a poison if too much is taken.

Mistaken Belief no. 3: Wrinkle injections will be painful!
At Star Cosmetic Medicine the doctor will use needles smaller than a hair. Numerous people say that the treatments are not worse than bug bites. It for certain is not as sore as a procedure like a blood test.

Mistaken Belief no. 4: BoTox will deaden my face!
This is completely incorrect. BoTox works on the junction between the nerve and the facial muscle, not sensate nerves. BoTox just targets the ability to relax muscular tissues.

Mistaken Belief no. 5. You can’t stop getting BoTox otherwise you will get worse wrinkles than before!
Also wrong.

You can expect BoTox to last for up to 3 months. Any further injections after the first consultation should last a few weeks more. Gradually as muscle strength returns to normal the lines will return bit by bit. But they will certainly be no deeper than before.
