Booking a villa for the holidays can be time consuming. Trying to figure out where to go, where to stay and what to do can take hours. But, if the end result is staying in a luxurious villa during those special times and making wonderful memories then it’s all well worth it.

Deciding where to go may be the hardest decision when making your plans, so here are some ideas. Mallorca, Balearics is a very popular destination for those wishing to sunbathe on the beaches along the stunning coastline. The villas in Mallorca can range from traditional farmhouses to modern villas set in an alluring landscape.

Maybe Crete, the largest of the Greek Islands, is somewhere you have dreamed about going. Theses villas are set near secluded beaches, quiet coves or mountain villages. Experience all that Crete has to offer from great markets, historical sightseeing to the world-famous olive groves. You will never want this holiday to end.

Lanzarote, Canary Islands is a beautiful place to stay in a villa. Most of these villas have the typical Canarian style of whitewashing their homes. Depending on what you are looking for, villas can be found along the south coast or for complete tranquility there are some inland hideaways. Don’t forget to take a day trip to a volcano, explore the island’s natural beauty or take an excursion through a national park.

These are only a few places to find magnificent villas. Other trendy destinations to consider are Florida, South of France, Turkey, Costa Blanca, Cyprus, Algarve, Menorca, Bali, Marbella to name a few.

One thing to remember, there is no lack of holiday villas to stay in wherever you decide to travel. Villas can be the perfect retreat to an exotic place, romantic getaway, family fun vacation or a more secluded holiday.

Partly due to the credit crunch skiing occupancies lowered last winter.

In spite of excellent early bookings coupled with first class snow.

This drop in numbers comes after 6 winters of successive growth within the skiing industry, and the number of skiers reduced from 1.15 million in 2008 to 950000 last winter.

Partly due to skiers giving the season a miss, while additional snowboarders who’d typically take two or more skiing breaks, merely took the one.

The independent travel sector fell by 15% with some low priced airlines reducing the no. of flights to certain cities.

However tour operators also saw the bookings decreasing by a similar 15%.

Still, the top 6 tour operators market share remained at 73% and a France ski holiday carried on as the favourite destination with around 37% of ski holidays.

This meant that several major tour operators cut the number of catered chalets they lease this coming season.

Catered ski chalets will witness a drop in clients due to the fact that a catered ski chalet incurs more costs with regards to hosts and chefs and lease if it is unsold.

It remains unlikely that we will benefit from the type of special offers that were around this winter.

Although prices are in all likelihood to augment, costs probably won’t go up a lot.

When we filled up our details at the local fast food outlet after opting for one of their promotional sales, we did it for a lark. The waitress gave us the forms and told us that we would get a free luxury trip to the Caribbean if we won the sweepstakes. Little did we think that we would one day be traveling to the Caribbean to stay at a beach front luxury resort after winning the all-expenses paid vacation for two. I couldn’t believe it when the fast food chain’s publicist called me and congratulated me. The local travel agent, who was coordinating the trip for the company, called me afterwards to get more details. I was excited as I gave them the most convenient dates. They gave me details of the luxury hotel where we were to stay

Once I got the name of the hotel in the US Virgin Islands, I checked out the hotel’s website. The hotel on St. Croix has three beaches close to it. Grotto Beach is described as the place for snorkeling and diving while Whistle Beach is for the sun worshippers. I intend to do both. I loved the pictures of the beach shacks and the shaded part of Mermaid Beach with hammocks for a lazy day of reading and relaxing. You bet my husband is going to stake out a hammock for himself as long as we are there. They also serve lunch or dinner on the beach in the open air restaurants.

After we reached St. Croix, I found out that our hotel also had a complimentary breakfast buffet every morning in one of its restaurants. On the premises, there were the ruins of an ancient sugar mill, which formed a lovely backdrop for a cocktail party the hotel organized. Guests at this luxury hotel mingled and chatted with ease, exchanging stories of their fishing trips or scuba dives like old friends..

Miles and miles of white sand stretch along the palm fringed shore looked inviting; we could go riding along the beach

Nothing is more relaxing that taking a holiday. My relaxing Pacific Island holiday was sufficient to convince me that I wanted to go back once more..

When your day to day gets too stressful, you need to unwind and cool out, think Pacific Islands. An island holiday has the answers to reducing your stress level and getting you truly grounded once again. Nothing feels better than to return to work feeling relaxed and reloaded.

New Caledonia, my own island getaway, is my own favorite. The islands are breathtaking. The natural beauty and the temperate climate of the island is adequate to make you wake up with a smile every sunrise.

The island is a paradise, with miles of untouched white sandy and gorgeous swaying trees that literally sing to you. The Pacific Islands have got those great blue lagoons and coral reefs that make swimming, snorkeling, diving, and fishing, something you simply have to go through. Snorkeling in the balmy waters of New Caledonia is reminiscent of a lovely musky-scented spa.

The Pacific islands has got to be the most laid back and relaxing holiday destination on earth offering you the perfect diving conditions. The submarine world is nothing less than amazing, as you swim along with the dolphins and colorful fish. The island also features some very peaceful lagoons with crystal calm waters that offer up an marvellous array of life.

Back on solid ground, the residents of the Pacific Islands seem to be more friendly than anyplace else you’ve ever been. Anxious to help you find your next activity, the locals would stop and visit, smile and chat with you. Whether you meet them in a store, or on the street, there was always a friendly “hello”. The cities offer you marvellous food, fun and a night life that is as exhilarating and as unique as the many natural places to visit.

If you’re stressed out from day to day living, or just need a little break from reality, there is no better place in the world to get that instant pick-me-up vacation than the Pacific islands.

My relaxing Pacific Island Holiday left me wishing I had a great deal longer to stay.

Coming from the airport to your snowboarding village has never been easier.

These days there are a multitude of transfer companies operating out of the airport in Geneva, which has meant the price of Chamonix transfers being reduced by a noticeable amount.

These days it is no longer the case that there were hardly a few taxi operators to decide on.

At present the traveler has a array of choices, with the majority of operators owning a number of new taxis.

Especially if you are vacationing in the Chamonix valley then a taxi ride could take just one hour, and set you back 25 Euros.

The speed of the transfer, and the reduced costs of Chamonix transfers, means that European ski weekends have become more popular as people prefer to have less time off work, yet still wish to enjoy their skiing vacations.

This is set to continue as snowboarders are eager to have a skiing trip, but don’t want to take a full 7 days out of the office in part due to the economic crisis.

The other benefit of the reduced ski transfer costs is that the prices of ski vacations carries on dropping.

Snowboard hire is definitely less than it used to be in seasons past, especially if one takes the option to pay online before you head out snowboarding.

Although the weakness of the pound sterling compared to the euro makes things more expensive in resort, if you are enjoying a luxury catered chalet then most of your holiday is paid for in sterling before your arrival.

We resolved to become carbon negative to help preserve the ski resort.

KELEOS said: We’re not assaying to prescribe to guests only we believe its of import to grant them the selection without augmenting the price of the ski holiday. If the customer book with us and goes to our skiing chalet they can more than off set their carbon footprint and we take in the added costs. Of course we still have a sauna and a hot tub - holiday makers wish for lavishness but not at the expense of the alps mountains, so we viewed means of decreasing the results of a client driving over here for a winter holiday.”

Hundreds of avid snowboarders will soon be looking for their skiing gear and dashing forth hunting for the biggest snow.

And beyond any doubt the results of your carbon footprint will be nearly as far down the list of holiday musts as a turkey sandwich after the Christmas vacation.

Only last year, a tardy snow was in the headlines and holidaymakers were terrified about the smattering of snow disappearing almost as soon as they settled.

Skiing holiday business Chalet1802, based at the bottom of Mont Blanc in Chamonix ski resort in the Alps, is one of the only autonomous firms to go carbon negative and provide skiers an environmentally friendly choice while organising their ski trip.

Chalet1802 owner Torion stated: Last winter was quite a surprise with the most warm wintertime in 60 yrs in the French Alps. Famous skiing areas for example Les Gets, Tignes and Tignes suffered. It was balmy and the snow didn’t settle so a lot of the early winter snowboarding season in the Alps was patchy. We decided to go carbon negative to assist in the preservation the snowboarding resort.

Torion said: We’re not assaying to prescribe to clients only I believe it’s of import to give the guests the selection without raising the cost of the vacation. When the client book with us and takes his annual leave in our Chamonix ski chalet they may further off-set their carbon output and we soak up the extra costs. Naturally we still have a sauna and a hot tub - customers want opulence but not at the expense of the environment, so we viewed ways of lessening the impact of someone traveling over here for a snowboarding holiday.”

The firm have moreover linked up with charity Climate Care, who tackles global warming by making carbon dioxide deductions for people and businesses.
